Day forty four
Today has made me question where Disney really has the right to claim ‘happiest place on Earth’. This is because today after a year of saving and a month and a half holiday down, I finally got to the place that was my whole purpose for coming on this trip. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! And what a world it was! More about that later.
T & I started the day very relaxed, taking our time to get dressed until we realised that the room clock that we were going by was 40 minutes slow, leaving us with 5 minutes of panicking before the shuttle was scheduled to pick us up. We somehow managed to pull off the world’s quickest finished getting dressed and leave the hotel room. Worse for us was that our room is the furthest away from the lobby, so we were forced to run down the halls with shoes only half on. Of course once we arrived in the waiting area all hot and sweaty, the shuttle was 15 minutes late anyway.
Arriving at Universal: Islands of Adventure was very exciting and I spent the whole time with my smile being 90% of my face. We walked through Suess Landing and Lost Continent before we made it to, dun dun dun dunnnn, Hogsmead. I cried with happiness upon walking in. So many of my childhood dreams came true looking over Hogsmead to Hogwarts. We made our way up to the castle and waited in high anticipation to get to the front. I won’t ruin the Forbidden Journey ride for anyone, but it was the most incredible thing I have ever done. 20/10.
After that, T and I went to the other rides in the WWoHP, which are all very good and come highly recommended from me.
We mixed up our day with an equal amount of really fun children’s rides and intense adult ones. T really loved Marvel World, with a Spiderman, Doctor Doom, Storm and Incredible Hulk rides, heaps of comic merchandise and enough comic books to fill up a library.
We headed along to Toon Beach and picked an unfortunate Popeye ride that ended in us both getting soaked and nearly breaking the camera. This killed our enjoyment a little bit as being wet made it very cold. To make up for it, we went on the Forbidden Journey ride again and I at least was very happy again.
We spent 8 hours walking around the park so as soon as we arrived back at our hotel, we got a quick dinner, got into our pj’s and we’re now in bed very close to sleep.
Until next time,
